Plant Breeding & Experiment Farm
Most advanced breeding through the latest technologies and expertise
What is necessary for breeding? This is a question that our breeders constantly ask themselves throughout their tireless research. At the Niihari Breeding and Research Station, a wide range of research is conducted to breed improved vegetable varieties geared toward the domestic and overseas markets. During our long history of R&D, we have developed numerous high-quality varieties and thereby contributed greatly to the seed industry. As many of our varieties have become very popular, our R&D strengths are now recognized to be among the best in the industry, both inside and outside the country.

Commodity Control
High-quality, reliable seeds for customer
Customers have been becoming increasingly demanding about the quality of seeds in recent years. Mechanical sowing of pelleted seeds or seed tapes, as well as priming treatment for accelerating germination, are also becoming common practice. To meet the various requirements of seeds, we established the Asaka QC Center, one of the most sophisticated seed storage facilities in the country, in March 2000. We are working to realize storage systems that are ideal for each type of seed, and implement strict quality control to provide disease-free seeds.
